Over the whir of hair dryers and the steam of hot curlers, life stories are told - of new boyfriends and weddings and children growing up.

But these salon chair exchanges between hairstylists and their clients can sometimes take a dark turn.

A client is blitzed by text messages from a possessive boyfriend. A woman panics when she gets a bill that is higher than she expected. Another gets edgy and nervous about her time in the chair, worried about not making it home in time to fix her husband supper.

ETHNIC HAIR SALON | Simply Erinns

Press Release 2

Simply Erinn's is Cambridge's answer to Cheers, minus the beer and plus the braids. Erinn Pearson, a neighborhood girl who set up shop seven years ago, runs a friendly salon specializing in treatments for customers with especially frizzy, curly or wavy hair. While chemical relaxers are on the roster, more popular service include the twist out (sections of wet hair are twisted together and then undone when dry, for a softer wave) and press ‘n' curl (a type of flat ironing). For more creative styles, you can get cornrows, weaves and extensions.
